Batch VCD to DVD Questions

MessageAuthor

I have read the article @ But i have a few more questions i want to ask. Since i am doing Batch processing. I have up to 80 .dat files to convert following that guide would be a tidius job. Is there any way to Batch convert them to .mpg? And any way to batch convert them to 48Khz .mp2 format? I wanted to ask if i would get any size reduction in convert to AC3 instead of mp2? And if my player support mp3 if it is possible to use Mp3 instead?

RE: Batch VCD to DVD Questions

i dont think all the tools in that guide support command line. dvdlab has built in support for svcd resolution for (x)dvd's. so you could usually put a few vids per dvd. mp2 is legal for dvd although for ntsc you are supposed to have at least one ac3 track. since this dvd will be non-standard it probably wont matter any. \ you can use besweet and setup a batch command for it. im thinking you need to split the .dat before you can setup the ac3 files in a batch.

RE: Batch VCD to DVD Questions

Hello, I had noticed this thread for a batch SVCD to DVD program, maybe it's what you want

RE: Batch VCD to DVD Questions

Your last questions somehow got missed in what were otherwise very helpful responses. Anyway... my experience has been that AC3 is very very slightly smaller than MP2, maybe only 2 or 3% smaller. You'll save space with it, but not a lot. MP3 is absolutely unsupported for DVD. I am not aware of any DVD authoring programs that will allow you to use it. Even if you could do it, you are unlikely to find a standalone DVD player that would play such a disc.
