Trying to get 16 recordable tracks with a digi 001

Hi, I have the digi 001. I'm expanding my drums, so I'm gonna have 10 drum mics, then theres the rest of the band. So I bought an adat, and I figured I'd plug its optical out into the card's optical in, giving me 16 tracks I could record simoultaneously. My problem is that I can't seem to get it to work. I selected adat in the hardware set up, but can't get the 8 new inputs to show up. Please help.

Well, no need to worry, I found out what I was doing wrong. You have to quit protools, before the changes take effect. Then when you reopen it you go to the 'setup I/O' and click default. (and the adat has to be set to master). Glad I got it working

Just curious, what you are using for pres on the adat? Is the adat 24 bit?
