glitches in media player when using "synchronous read mode"

I have found that synchronous disk reads allow me to push my quad core a lot more on tracks with many tracks of audio but when in synchronous mode auditioning audio (especially 32bit files) in the media player causes drop outs and "motorboat" style glitching. anyone else have this or a solution?

hi music by numbers, i too had severe crackling issues and glitching and your post inspired me to switch default modes both synchronous first, which already solved my crackling problem, after that i reset to defaults again and the issues were still gone, and everything works fine in asynchronous mode now !? can you maybe try this also if you hadn't before, it worked for me...

Hi, pretty much everything is set to defaults, if i remember correctly i did check "optimize buffering for low latency hardware", but i'm not too sure, all the other settings i didn't mess with... i'm also using 64 samples (steinberg mr816x card), i also had those horrible noise bursts and glitches in the media player, but even at very light cpu loads just tried previewing a large number of samples in the media player, and everything seems fine... Well, at least thanx for solving my problem already :-)
