USB Mic Setup - Mac Vs PC

I've been using REAPER on my macbook pro for a couple years now and have loved it for pretty much the entirety of that time. Most recently, I've decided to create a series of tutorial videos targeted at amateur voice actors so that I can help save them from Audacity. Problem is that more or less everyone I'd be directing the tutorials to uses a pretty common setup: USB condenser mic in, headphone jack out. I know how to set this up on mac - just make an aggregate device - but the whole ASIO vs directsound vs whatever else on Windows is confusing the hell out of me. What should I recommend to people?* *"Get an audio interface" does not count as a recommendation.

If I bought an USB condenser mic, I would expect it to come with an appropriate asio driver.

On the other hand - I would never buy an USB mic....

Its a superior asio driver. Find it using the power of the Google and install as per instructions...
