Yaw Rate Sensor - Value of of range

Following a bump with a UPS van in March, I get an "Anti-Skid Service Required" error come on whenever I corner quickly. This shuts off all traction systems until the error clears itself. It was working fine *after* the accident but was broken after it came out of the bodyshop. Garage denies all knowledge of course. (Pentagon - why didn't I insist on a volvo dealer?) The error code is Yaw Rate Value out of range. This can be caused by a faulty yaw rate sensor o bad wheel alignment - there was suspension damage in the accident, and they performed 4 wheel geometry checks on the car and repaired the suspension. I'm loathe to fork out for a new one because I half suspect it will not cure the problem. Anyone seen similar problem? Cheers, T

What was the guarantee given with the repair work ? You usually get three years. Contact your insurers and inform them of the problem with your car post repair. Remember your contract is with your insurer and it is up to them to get the car repaired. Don't be fobbed off into doing their running around.

My 2002 S60 with DSTC just displayed this sympton, for which the dealer wanted $800 to repair. Since the vehicle had just been in the shop to repair a mysterious 'service engine' light, we agreed to reset all the codes, drive the vehicle, and see if the codes related to yaw rate sensor returned. Dealer reset codes, drove vehicle three different times, no codes found.

Heyas. Turned out that the issue was wheel alignment. After repariing the suspension damage, it never occured to the garage to to a 4 wheel alignment. I had one done at my service, light hasn't come back on since. T
