Certainly try what Chris suggests, but here is something else to think about... Is your session enabled for "mac/pc compatibility"? Are you trying to bounce or export a file with either an illegal character OR to a location that has an illegal character in its hierarchy? For example, I had a project folder called "Artist Name 4-05" because we were cutting the tracks starting in April. In the midst of the project, someone else was copying some material around and decided to create a new project folder and called it "Artist Name 8/05" because we were a few months into it, get it? When they did that, everything we tried to do when recording or even saving the session would give us an assertion error. Changing the name of that folder and removing the illegal "/" fixed the problem instantly. So it may be that you're trying to bounce to or from a directory with something illegal in the name. It's a thought. You may also try tossing the Digidesign Databases folder on your audio drive(s). Good luck.
