i tried converting a short avi clip to avc format using avc but megui stalls endlessly. i've got no problems converting a dvd to avc using megui, just this. any suggestions?
------------------------------------- White is Right, Steel Grey is OK, but Estoril is the only color that truly matters. I like Coupes.
1. i wanted to convert an xvid encode in an avi container into avc for testing purposes. i did so by draggin it to megui, and immediately megui's avisynth creator pops up. i accepted everything on default, saved and loaded it in megui. I left it to encode on 1 pass overnight, woke up the next morning and megui didn't do anything. the log file still says: [Starting job job5 at 10:01:33 PM Job is a video job. encoder commandline: --bitrate 700 --analyse p8x8,b8x8,i4x4 --sar 1:1 --progress --no-psnr --output "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\5.mp4" "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\5.avs" successfully started encoding] the mp4 ouput file is still at 0kb. 2.the avi opens up in any media player you throw at it and also virtuadubmod btw. so what do you think?
1. Make sure you have the newest accessible version of MeGUI, in case this is due to some bug (I'm not aware of any, though) 2. Check that all your programs are configured correctly and MeGUI is pointing to them. 3. See if you can open the Avisynth file (*.avs, generated by the AviSynth creator) with virtualdubmod, and check the colorspace (File->File Information). If you've done all of that and it still doesn't work, there is something very weird going on. In that case, cut a sample of the avi and upload it.
