Well for me anyhow... I'm sure some of you already have found this one, but if you highlight a region, and an area beyond that region, and hit SHIFT+ALT+U even in regular drag region mode, it will Time compress the region using the TCE tool, to the lenght of your highlight. I found this by mistake when I was trying to select all unused regions Shift+CTRL+U just after I had consolodated a track SHIFT+ALT+3 Both of those are extremely common, and in the shortcut menu card for LE But SHIFT+ALT+U isn't anyone got more???? odd shortcuts that aren't common, or doccumented in the Shortcuts card?? specificly a shortcut for selecting different playlists would be nice !
I was actually thinking of compiling all the shortcuts I could find, and then putting them into some type of document that would have titled columns, so you could use the column headers to sort to what ya want, like alpha so all shift+ grouped, alt+ grouped, etc, or by descrip, with the first word being what it relates to, like "region: nudhes region(s) XXX..." and so on. This way, it would be a readily available doc, plus, could always print what ya want, how ya want, hit Kinkos, laminate- display as you want
Wow, thanks Nikki, that is a great thread, I wonder how many of those Mac Land Command functions convert over to ctrl on a pc??? I'm about to muck around for an hour and find out. It seems as though alot of those posters were also using a software called QuickKeys ? I'm still gonna go play.
Achhh very few of the command Option functions in mac land seem to translate to Ctrl Alt... and windows key for Mac Ctrl doesn't really work with any combinations, I'd really like to know if there really is an easter egg in PTLE XP, like q-u-e-e-n on the mac??? or was it a joke? like as soon as you hit the "Q" you'd quit the session ?
I'm not aware of any Easter Eggs in Pro Tools -- but there should be equivalents for every keystroke on the Mac.. which ones in particular are you looking for? Rail
these were coppied from the Thread Nikki linked to, I've never used them on a Mac TDM either, and was unaware they existed, silmilar to my XP - LE selected region SHIFT+ALT+U find today, which prompted this curiousity. I'm not out at the studio, (Mac TDM) I'm at home, on an LE - XP machine, so I can't try these to verify that they work, but was un aware till now, of them, if they do. Command+option+shift+B - bounce to disk Command+option+shift+N - delete selected tracks Command+option+shift+P - scroll during playback Command+option+shift+U - show System Usage Command+option+shift+S - Save Session Copy In... Option+control+shift+G - AudioSuite Gain plugin Option+control+shift+R - AS Reverse plugin Option+control+shift+I - AS Invert plugin Option+control+shift+V - AS VocAlign plugin Option+control+shift+S - AS SoundReplacer plugin ctrl+alt+option+! - Turns your monitor to grey colors Hold Command and Shift and type "Q-U-E-E-N" for the hidden Pro Tools Easter egg The last 2 simply sounding Like a myth to me, on TDM or LE - again, some of these may be TDM only, I'm not on a Mac TDM system till Wed. But, if any of these actually work in LE, I'd like to know their shortcuts in XP.

The majority of those are custom commands programed into a 3rd party app called ... which works well on the Mac.. and so-so under Windows. The last one I've never heard of or seen.. so I'd ignore it... and the second to last I believe is a Mac OS X function. Rail
