idleing problem

MessageAuthor

Use the Search function in the s40 tech section for idle and you will find a number of threads. In summary, yes check all vacs lines for splits / perished joints, clean out throttle body, idle control unit and all PCV lines. Check and clean / replace air, fuel filters, spark plugs, HT leads, coils as required. Also confirm all electrical connections that may have been disturbed during the work.. Also get the crank and cam position sensors confirmed. Worst case senario is that the cam alignment was re-set incorrectly, get this checked by whoever changed the belts, do not rev the car high or load it until this last point is confirmed, don't want you to get any engine damage. Hope this helps.
