Hi all, I have a little annoying problem. When I copy and paste something, when I go to paste, the piece I paste does not paste to where my cursor lies, but it sets it off about 5 seconds down the timeline every time. This is extremely annoying because I copy and paste a lot! Is this a setting issue? I looked through my preferences and could not find anything to do with copy and paste. Is there some specific way to do this so that it will place the item on my cursor? Thanks.
Try downloading and installing the latest version of Reaper and see if it's still a problem. Some default settings regarding copy paste got changed a while back. :-)

Hi, guys. I have a different copy and paste problem. Let's say I slice a chorus phrase from a vocal track, then select that phrase and copy it. If I move down the timeline to insert the phrase in the next chorus, it inserts in the timeline...but moves everything on that track and every track below it down the timeline, including markers! I've searched preferences, but can't seem to find a variable that might make it possible for pastes to overlay instead of insert. Seems like basic editing, so I assume Reaper has a way to do this. Can anyone help?

Only Cockos would make a menu option tri-state. Ripple Editing Off. Ripple Editing Per Track. Ripple Editing All. Hell, why bother with sub menus at all? This is the stuff that makes the support line ring. Crazy :D
