hi guys, i have v40 t99, the service light is on and have tried the "hold in km reset knob and turn key etc" but this doesn't reset mine, im i doing something wrong or is there another way to reset the service light any advice would be greatfull thanks salesman
i have a 99 v40 i just turn on the ignition,hold the button until it starts to flash then release it then sets, try a few times it took me a few attempts to get it right

You have to hold the reset knob in then turn the ignition to the run position, now wait until the service light flashes and then let go of it. If it stops flashing and you let go it wont reset it. Thats assuming you car is mid 99 onwards, if its before that then you need to reset it with a computer and the car wont work with OBD2 interfaces.
I think the manual reset only works on Phase 2 models. The Phase 1s need a reset tool (electronics gubbins) which the dealers use to reset the light! Is yours a twin headlight or single? If single, its a phase 1. Sorry!
cheers for the info, just done mine, held the odometer reset button in, turned the ignition on, waited till the service light flashed then released the button.. brilliant, thankyou.. (didnt get a beep though,, but it worked..)
