I just picked up a midi drum pack (slamtracks.com), and these files will not fire up my Native Instruments 60's drums in REAPER. They work fine in Studio One. They will play Battery kits in REAPER. Also, I noticed my Groove Monkee samples will play 60's Drums in REAPER. But not the GM files. Only the midi that's set up for EZ Drummer works correctly. Do I need to tweak a setting or load some sort of "drum map" or something to get my Kontakt drum libraries to read General Midi format files?
Thanks for your help guys. Thing is I'm LOST when it comes to midi, so this troubleshooting is completely over my head. <embarrassed> Transposing up an octave doesn't help although it seems the most logical. However, why would this all work "as is" in Studio One? And also, it does trigger Battery fine in REAPER... Must be a setting inside Kontakt/60's drums. I've tried changing a few parameters (BFD setting, etc.) with no luck. Hopefully someone who has 60's, 70's, 80's etc. drums from NI will chime in? Thanks again for your help.
2 thoughts - Have you assigned the outputs on Kontakt? This might be the problem if you can see that the midi commands are working, but there is no sound. Have you tried EZ Player? Kyle

I'll have to try EZ Player Pro next. Kontakt does play notes if I use my keyboard or step sequencer. It just will not read these general midi files, whether I just audition them in my media browser or drop them onto a session track.
