Uprgading from PTLE 7.3 to 7.4 - Any tips?

MessageAuthor

Hi, I have been using Pro Tools LE 7.3 for a few weeks now, with Mbox 2 Pro. Getting used to it and enjoy learning it. I probablly should have just went ahead and totally installed 7.4 though (at least I think?) I would like to go ahead and do the 7.4 upgrade since I will have the time to do it during the next couple of days. Can anyone out there suggest to me how to go about this, what to do/install first, any known issue during the upgrade, or maybe link to digidesign website I missed because I did not really see anything on how to go about upgrade etc etc. Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

I have Upgraded from 7.3 to 7.4 too. There's no real issues, just follow the instructions on screen. You're gonna have to uninstall the 7.3 first, restart and launch the installation of your 7.4. After I don't know of you've already bought your upgrade (maybe it was free depending on the date of purchase of your system). Once installed, get the update on the digidesign Website (7.4 cs2 and Free) and install it. Don't forget your authorization code and that's it. I had one little issue with my plugins.I have the Waves bundle and when I installed my new version of PT there wasn't anymore Waves Plugins. The thing I had to do is to copy the Waveshell files from my current session user's DEA File to the Common File digidesign DEA file.Cause it depends if you're working under Administrative or non-administrative user account. If you don't have probs with your plugins once you have installed your new version, forget about the latter notice. Hope it helps

Cool! Thanks for the reply. I do qualify for the free update so when I sign in, and find the update, I am sure that is where the instructions should be. I hope to try this by Monday so I'll post my results. Thanks.
