Please could anyone help us with a CR-906 anti-theft radio. We have just bought a 960 car but the radio and tape deck is not working. We have managed to get the radio out at last. The problem is that it lights up when you switch it on but nothing appears on the screen so that you can select a programmes but if you bend down and put your ear to the speaker you can hear music or talking very faintly. Can someone advise us is it worth getting repaired and if so does anyone know in the south Essex area where this can be done. Regards Doris & Graham:lightbulb:

Hi, If you are hearing faint music and have nothing on the display then it isn't a radio code issue? Do you have a code for this unit? Have you tried powering off the unit (completely disconnecting all power)? Des. . . ;)
Thanks for your reply Des Yes we have a code for the radio and we have disconnected the radio and reconnected & tried to put code in but although the unit lights up there is no display asking for code or anything else Regards Doris & Graham

I've got a CR-906 that was in my 945 - there's no wiring loom and the security code's noted somewhere. PM me if you're interested/can't get yours repaired. I'm not sure what it's worth (probably not much) but it was working until I removed it.

Hi Doris & Graham, I have a CR906 that will not come out of the dash. How do you extract it please? I have tried every extract tool possible but with no result. Dismantled most of the dash too and all I see is a box with a loom out the back. I have a 1997 945 and the radio is being swapped(one day) for a Kenwood CD player. Any thoughts please?
Can any one help me with the removal of the radio from my 1997 945 please? I have tried every extract tool known with liitle success, have even dimantled most of the centre dash but the radio stays put! Help!!
The photo is superb! Just like mine on Sunday! When you say "tool", is it a Volvo tool or any extract? Is it just the case of carefully inserting it until it is possible to apply pressure as described and then a hefty pull to get it out? I know about tight fittings as I work on aircraft, but I do think Volvo desigend that to stay put for ever!! Many thanks, I will battle on!
