Help Setting Up Waves plugins

MessageAuthor

Waves has it's own installer. You can install the folder in your Applications folder and the installer will automatically install the TDM RTAS waveshell in your DAE folder.

RE: Help Setting Up Waves plugins

I have installed the gold bundle-its' on the desktop--the folders did not sort into the correct places--I am having to manually drop them where they should go. Ok so the waveshells go into the DAE folder under what-- plug ins? What about the plugins themselves. Im looking for a step by step of where all this goes. Please stay with me on this one.

RE: Help Setting Up Waves plugins

Strange.... Whenever I have run the Waves Installer from version 2.5 up to 4.0, it creates a Waves Folder on the root directory of my Hard Drive which contains all of the waves plugins, documentation, and libraries. Then it places the appropriate waveshells into each Plug-in folder of my audio applications. I suggest you get the version 3.6 installer and try again. There are many improvements to 3.6 and I believe it is a free upgrade. When the Waveshell is first launched it will ask you to locate the plug-ins folder. Typically this is Waves\Waves Plug-Ins.

Call Waves tech support at 865-546-6115 ext 1 or e-mail to . They have helped me out in the past when I nedded help and never had a hitch with their support. Seems I have to call every upgrade because I do something wrong. Not the most user friendly to install but what a great bunch of plug-ins.

Thanks guys--I have heard that waves plugins give the most fight (now I know it's true). They are damn good plugs though! I'll call them up

RE: Help Setting Up Waves plugins

mink, I would reinstall. Just trash what ever is on your desktop. Launch the installer and direct where you want it to install. My suggestion is to either create a "Music" folder or put it your Applications Folder. The installer WILL install all the waveshells and extensions in their proper place. After the install you will have a Waves 3.2 folder inside. There will be extra waveshells , authorizer, docs and the Plug-ins folder. They stay there. When you launch ProTools for the first time it will ask you where the PLUG-INS folder is. You will then navigate it to the plug-ins folder inside the Waves 3.2 folder that you just installed and select it. You should be good to go from there on in. GOOD LUCK.
