recording live

hello, can anybody recommend what type of mics i should use to record my band. i have a mbox 2 , so i know i am going to record in stereo. My band consists of guitar, bass, drums and keyboard. I am using pro tools 7.4 le and it is gonna go through my laptop computer.If anybody could give me some ideas on mic placement this would be a great help. Should i use 2 condenser mics? or should i use 2 dynamic mics? Thanks:o

What is your space like? What microphones do you have available? Generally, I use a pair of Crown CM-700 in a X/Y. If the space is not great, don't expect too much from a stereo recording.

thanks guys, I have a shure sm 81 condenser mic and a shure sm 57, I guess I'll need another sm 81. As for the spdif pre amp , I don't have that. can i still get away it? lol!! Should i just stick the 2 condenser mics in the middle of the room in a Y CONFIGURATION?
