Hi, I had to do a punch in vocal during a fade out at the end of a song. This makes the preset volume fade stop where the punch in is rather than go as far as I had it previously. In the past, when something like this occurred, I would have to spend a good sum of time getting the volume to fade out manually by doing it with the Take Volume Envelope, adding points, and then progressively bringing each one down in a negative slope. Is there any way I can get the new punch in linked or connected to the audio that was already there so that the preset fade-out will cross the new punch-out line and go as far as I want it to? I hope this isn't confusing, but I really don't know how else to explain it. I can't be the only who has encountered this issue. Does glue or heal fix it? If so, what's the procedure? Thanks in advance! :)

Can you just extend the item ? Select it and drag the right out to where you need. Then glue it. Then you're fade can start from farther away. Is that what you need ?
Unfortunately, I cannot, because the fade-out began prior to the punch-in/out. If there is no way, that's a bummer, and I will either re-record the ending or just do what I used to do before, which is a hassle, but it works.
Yeah, it wouldn't be any simpler than what I already do. I just thought that with the mega amounts of updates to this software all the time, that the function for that would be there. Seems to me it would be an easy addition to Reaper, but then again, I don't develop software so what do I know? Thanks, Coachz! Take care.
So you're trying to punch in AND out all inside an item fade out? Did I understand correctly? What if you just use the Pre-Fx Volume Automation to do the fade out, instead from the actual item?
