Just went from roland 2480 to pro tools LE

MessageAuthor

Just ordered My creation station PC pro rack mount, with pro tools and a digi 002 rack from Sweetwater. Can't hardly wait , I'am going to get Command/8, and a Focusrite octopre 8 channel Mic pre . I just figured I needed to do it. Hope it was a great move

Jackp the VS-2480 was an awesome machine, but I needed to make the switch to PT because I was always being asked if I had PT. This was a good thing because it forced me to find out what I was missing and the first time you start to edit you'll now exactly what I mean. Looking forward to hearing from you on the DUC! Welcome.

welcome to PT and the DUC once you go digidesign you never go back i went from yamaha AW series workstations to a 002 with PT 6.1 and what a difference in work flow. now with all the extra in 7.0 you will certainly never look back. export your projects as wave files and inport them into PT and you will figure out all the basics in an afternoon and be mixing your songs easier and faster than ever

Yes you can import the audio from the cd into PT and master it. You can't burn the cd from PT but with PT 7 you can import that audio to a track. I hope that helps.

I owned the 1680 and did my first CD on it. Was good, but man...Pro Tools smokes it.....truely. The 1680 had a "harshness" that I could never get past. You will definitely never look back. Just the way Pro Tools handles automation alone is worth the price of admission!
