Fault codes stored in the memory Data Link , can be accessed without any specail tools or equipment . The Data Link is located on the inner wing top next to the air filter, it is black and about 2in square. The process for accessing , reading and erasing is follows: Trouble codes are displayed by the LED on the data link connector. Accessing. Open data link cover. Insert system selector cable ( which is stored in cover top ) into socket 2. Switch ignition on . Press test button for 0.5 to 1 second. Count LED flashes. Note trouble codes. Compare with trouble code table. ( in the attachment with this ). Trouble codes consist of a sequence of three groups of flashes. A 3 second pause seperates each group. For example 1 flash 3sec pause 2 flashes 3 sec 1 flash This = a code of 121. Trouble codes must be accessed and faults rectified before codes can be erased. Erasing. Open data link connector cover. Insert system selector cable in socket 2. Switch ignition on . Press test button for 5 seconds minimum. Release button. Wait until LED illuminates. Press button again for 5 seconds minimum. Ensure trouble codes have been erased. The ECM fault memory can also be erased by diconnecting the battery. Hope this is of use to some one . again the list of codes are in the attachment.
