Need Advice - "How To" Loop Trails?

Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to edit a single hit loop (IE a cymbal hit) and have the sound "trail" on past the end of the loop. For instance at the end of a bar you want the cymbal to trail on without cutting off at the end of the loop region? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Are you just loading samples onto an audio track? If so consider putting your samples into a sample player such as ShortCircuit, trigger them via MIDI (single shot mode so it doesn't respond to 'note off' message) once a sample's been triggered it carries on to the end. Any good?

Find ShortCircuit from a reputable source (KVR will probably have a link), put the DLL file in your VST plugins folder. Open Reaper, create track, open FX, click 'add', find SC. You should be able to see SC's keyboard. Open the folder your samples are in. Drag samples one by one onto different keys, SC should do the rest. That's a simple way to do it. Have a play and get back to us.
